This checklist for how to design your services page will give you everything you need to know to create a services page that conveys and converts.
Your services page design is where the magic happens.
It’s the point in your website visitor’s journey when they make that most important click and decide to learn not about who you are or where you come from – but what you do and how you can help. As such, it’s important to design it right.
And so enters the ultimate services page design checklist! Take a look over the five tips below and see out how your services page measures up.
1) Convey your love for what you do.
Before they hear about the nuts and bolts of what you do, your site visitors long to know that you care deeply about your work. They want to know that if they decide to work with you, they’ll receive not only your strong arms – but a piece of your heart as well. Why do you love your work? Your answer to that question will add great value to your services page.
2) Present your best customer testimonials.
You can tell people how wonderful you are all day long, and it will never hold the same power as a single truly magical customer testimonial. Choose your testimonials with great care. Which are the ones that send a slight tingle down your spine when you read them? Remember that they don’t need to be lengthy – they just need to be great.
3) Explain your proven process.
One of the greatest things you can do on your services page is to take the mystery out of what you do. It may be clear as day to you what your process looks like – but not necessarily to your customers. When you outline your process to site visitors, you comfort them by informing them about what happens next and what they can expect. Keep your process steps at a very high level if you can. The goal is to give them a glimpse without showing them the “sausage making.”
4) Don’t forget a great call to action.
Whatever you do, make it big, make it obvious, and make it clear. Whether it’s “Let’s talk” or “Ready to begin?” or “Ready for your complimentary quote?” – make sure that for those who are ready to head on over to your contact page, that it’s easy as pie for them to do so. 5) Offer an opt-in freebie.
Let’s say someone is digging what they’re seeing, but they’re not quite ready to reach out. Offer them a zero risk way of leaving with some value with an opt-in freebie: a free download, mini-course, or [fill in the blank] that you give away in exchange for a person subscribing to your email list. This allows you to continue the conversation, further introduce them to your brand, and stay in touch. You never know – they may become a customer later on.
