Will AI Change Your Business? It’s Not a Matter of If – It’s a Matter of How

If you’re not at least a little unnerved by how quickly AI has changed the business and online landscape in only a few years’ time, you clearly haven’t been paying attention.

Some of us are in business providing a skill that could easily be replaced by AI – computer programming, for example – while some of us might feel we are in business providing a skill that could never possibly be replaced by AI.

Today I want to tell you: whatever industry you’re in, AI will most certainly change things for you on some level at some point. It’s simply inevitable.

But here’s the good news. As entrepreneurs, one of our greatest superpowers is our ability to adapt, be flexible, and to pivot when the winds shift. There is always a way to move forward and make things work.

All it requires on your part is a little creativity and open-mindedness.

I’m in the business of websites. And while I hope there will always be a market of individuals who would prefer to work with a human rather than have AI make their website for them, the truth is I just don’t know.

But I can tell you this: I have at least two other business ideas rolling around in the back of my mind should there ever come a day when the job of a web designer becomes obsolete. I have every intention of continuing in this self-employed life I have created for myself with all of its benefits, flexibility, and freedom. Not AI, nor any other curveball the world might throw our way, will get in the way of that.

I had a teacher at The Manhattan School of Music who used to tell us: “No one can take your dream away from you. You give it up.” And I think that’s true. If AI does ever change or complicate things in your line of work, will you sit and whine about it while the world changes around you, or will you figure out how to pivot so you can ultimately still create the life you want?

The choice is yours 🤗
