Put more of your personality into your website with these five creative website ideas.
Anyone who knows me knows that when I work with my clients on their websites, at the forefront of our collaboration is always how to get as much of “you” into your website as we can. So I thought for this week’s blog, I’d share five easy ways you can do just that. Enjoy!
1) With a quote.
You might be thinking “How will putting someone else’s words on my website make it more me?” … but the truth is that revealing what quotes we are drawn to can tell someone a lot about ourselves. What’s a quote that speaks to you? Share it with your audience and you’ll be sharing a piece of yourself too.
2) With a photo.
One of the main reasons I strongly recommend my clients hire a photographer to take photos for their new website is because a professional photographer will know just how to capture you in your most authentic and true moments. And that means your website visitors will get to see the real you.
3) With your “why.”
When it comes to your business, there’s nothing quite like what’s at the heart of it all: why you wanted to start your business in the first place. What drives you? What inspires you? In your website copy, your answers to these questions are pure solid gold. TIP: For more on this, check out Simon Sinek’s “Find Your Why” course.
4) With testimonials about how you’re unique.
Anyone can paste a testimonial on their website that says “He/she is GREAT!” – but the real gems are the testimonials that illustrate to your visitors what makes you different and what separates you from everyone else in your field. And here’s a hot tip: when you’re gathering testimonials, ask your past clients guided questions to pull this out of them! 😉
5) With your voice.
We often hear people talk about the importance of blogging regularly as it relates to search engine page results or defining yourself as an expert in your field. These things are certainly true, but they forget one crucial thing: blogging also allows you to share your unique voice. Whether you’re blogging about industry news or relaying a story from your week, you’re showing your audience a little piece of who you are.
What’s one small way you can put a little more “you” into your website?
