And here we are, yet again 😉 Let’s look at what web design trends we can expect to see more of in 2026…

Muted Earth Tones
Ahhhh. Take a breath. Have you noticed that the PANTONE color of the year for 2026, “Cloud Dancer,” falls perfectly into a muted earth tone palette? The palette above and many others like it will literally calm the amygdala of website visitors while also subtly giving a nod to this planet we live on.

Museum-core
What’s “museum-core”? It’s probably exactly what you think it is. A combination of classic, timeless, serif fonts like the ones seen above, combined with plenty of whitespace that allows the image to pop, almost as though they were in a museum.

“Cute-alism”
It’s just so… cuuuuuuute! Cutealism is all about a combination of 80s-style colors and fonts, with fun graphics. A website that uses cutealism sort of makes you feel like a kid again.

Human Scribbling
You probably already guessed it, but what do you think human scribbling is a response to in our world today? That’s right – the robots! 😉 And before you go thinking “I can’t draw” (don’t worry – I can’t either), there’s a wealth of scribbles at our fingertips on websites like Vecteezy, and more.

BRIGHT colors
And if you’re not into the muted earth tones palette we saw above – good news! Another trend, perhaps thanks to the less-than-lengthy attention spans of our beloved young alpha generation, is bright colors that encourage a spike of dopamine. WOO!
And to close…
I look forward to writing this blog each year – it’s always a lot of fun. And as always, if any of these trends make you go “Hmmmm”, feel free to contact me so we can workshop ideas 🙂 Happy New Year, friends.
