The moment I saw a photo of one of Jan Riggins’ 3D street chalk art drawings, I knew she needed a Short & Sweet feature. If you’re anything like me, you may have dabbled in chalk drawing as a child, and maybe even seen some pretty cool street chalk art over the years. But never have I seen chalk art in 3D until I came across this talented and creative woman!
So, how does it work? After she decides on the image she wants to create, she uses something called an anamorphic stretch. This means if you view a piece from other viewpoints, it will appear distorted and stretched, but if you stand in just the right spot (i.e., the camera angle above), the image looks three-dimensional.
