The other day, I was out on a walk here in Arizona, where I’m staying until the end of March. It was a warm day, so I’d worn a tank top tucked into some bike shorts. A little way into my walk, I looked down and noticed my belly (you know, the one any woman over the age of 40 has) protruding a bit outwards. As I continued to walk, hoping it didn’t look too unsightly to passersby, I heard a loud voice coming from a woman waiting for the bus stop.
“My,” she exclaimed, smiling at me broadly, “don’t you look beautiful today!”
I looked around to make sure she was talking to me, which she indeed was.
“Thank you!” I replied. “And so do you do!”
After our brief exchange, I continued walking, looked down again at that woman-over-40 belly, and decided it must not look too bad after all.
The moral of this story – apart from that you look amazing, so stop worrying about it!! – is when you have a kind thought about another human, it’s best to speak up. For you never know – your words might be *exactly* what they need to hear 💕
