Online tools (also known as web apps) can be awesome – they can save us time, energy, and even money. But the world of apps is growing every day, and navigating the sea of them to find the one you need can be a daunting task. So this week, I thought it’d be fun to share my top five favorites right now. Hopefully one of these can help make your life a little simpler, a little easier, or a little wealthier.
Grammarly
Grammarly is a Chrome extension that will not only fix your spelling errors but your grammar as well. After trying their premium version for a beat, I think the free version is the way to go. I’m convinced Grammarly saves me time when writing emails, blog posts, or anything else.

Zoom for Google Calendar
Do you schedule Zoom meetings with clients or colleagues often? If so, and you’re a Google Calendar user, this add-on is a must. Once installed, you can turn a new event in Google Calendar into a Zoom meeting with one click.

Rakuten + Cently
When I first heard about Rakuten, I thought maybe it was some kind of MLM (multi-level marketing) scheme, but in truth, it’s not. Install the Rakuten Chrome extension, and when you’re at an e-commerce website on their list (most are), it will prompt you to connect the two so you can get cashback (ranging from 1-30%) to your Rakuten account. Yes, it’s real. A few months after signing up, I got a check in the mail for $60.
BONUS: Cently is another money-saving Chrome extension that will automatically try out coupon codes on your behalf at any checkout.
Ready to try it out? Join Rakuten via this link and you’ll get $40 if you spend $40 on purchases in your first 30 days (again, not a scheme, I promise!).
PikWizard
If you’re like me and are often looking for free legal-for-use stock photos, you might get tired of seeing the same old photos on your stock photo website of course (I know I do). I recently learned about PikWizard and found it to be a breath of fresh air. Add it to your list!

Mix
Although not entirely helpful when it comes to productivity, Mix is great when you just need to waste time for a little while. A curated collection of fascinating photos, videos, and articles, Mix truly brings you the very best (and sometimes weirdest) of the web. In less than five minutes on Mix, I saw Led Zeppelin’s first televised performance, a pool of magnetic putty swallowing a metal ball, an aerial view of an osprey about to dive for a fish, and a skateboarder going crazily fast.
